Prejudice is a mental illness, not a point of view.

I guess it’s my own fault for reading FoxNews.

  1. People are also, sometimes, the result of their culture [it is something you can get over–raised Southern Baptist and now an atheist, so I can attest to that], and without exposure to a larger world and larger context of existence, say things that are just ignorant.

Ignorance isn’t a mental illness and luckily with time is curable. Additionally, I have to say that I’m very glad that the 21 year old me never had to say anything in public that could alter my life the way this girl’s life will now be altered–of course, I think I was drunk that entire year, so that’s probably quite for the best.

I have a lot of compassion for a community that is told they cannot give the greatest gift to the partner they love, but on the other hand, I have a lot of compassion of those reared under the oppression of dogma. The sooner certain incarnations of God dies the better it will be for all of us.

  2. The notion that two consenting adults, who do no harm to any other human being, will somehow endanger a community by marrying another consenting adult is so patently absurd that I don’t think you can make the argument that it is a social thing.

    Mass delusion, I could buy.

  3. I would go with religious brain washing. I agree that it is absurd.

I also watched the video of the girl questioned, and there’s also a large possibility that she isn’t quite the brightest star in the sky.

This is how I view gay marriage:

Legalize it; why should they be happy?

In case there was any doubt, yes, I’m married. ; )
